Quinteto Ventarrón had its premiere in Buenos Aires in 2001. It has recorded two CDs: “Tango & Guitarras” (2002) and “Ciudad de la Luz” (2005).
It has performed at the following festivals: Guitarras del Mundo, Buenos Aires Tango Festival, La Falda National Tango Festival (Córdoba - Argentina), Independent Musicians Meeting (Córdoba - Argentina), Junin tango Festival (Buenos Aires - Argentina), and at the International Festival “Viva el Tango” (Montevideo, Uruguay). In Buenos Aires, the have performed at the theatres Colón, Presidente Alvear and Coliseo, as at the Fundation “Casa del Tango”, the Tango Radio of the City of Buenos Aires and at the tv channel “Solo Tango”. They made their first tour through France and Holland in November 2005.
The Quintet is formed by five soloist with distinguished individual careers: César Angeleri, Roberto Calvo y Gustavo Margulies in guitars, Néstor Basurto in guitarrón and voice, and Marcos Ruffo in contrabass. The musical arrangements are from Angeleri, Basurto y Calvo, whom also contribute with own crations to the repertory of the Quintet. They have always called the attention because of the swing and the energy displayed on stage, the result of a “team mystique” and a real passion for what they do.
This quintet, created in the year 2000, is formed by a true instrumentists formation, all of them with a remarkable experience in argentine music, not only as soloist or in own groups, but also playing with important tango artists
